STOKED'S VALUES

STOKED wants to see Stoke continue to grow into a thriving and well-connected community. We exist to support new and existing activities and to foster new partnerships and opportunities.

After consultation with the community, STOKED decided to focus on six different areas. These are the areas of community life that matter most to you:

GREENING STOKE

We love living in our wee corner of Aotearoa. There's so much to appreciate about our hills, streams, beaches and parks. Stoked wants to promote and celebrate projects and events that are helping connect people and the environment.

STOKE HAPPENINGS

There are plenty of cool things happening in our part of the city. Stoked doesn't want to just put on our own events, we want to promote yours!

STOKE ART

Nelson is known as a cultural hub for good reason. And Stoke is more than holding its own when it comes to the arts.
Did you know that four Stoke streets are named after famous writers: Kipling Crescent, Shelley Avenue, Dickens Street and Coleridge Place.

STOKE YOUTH

We all know that Rangatahi are the future. We want to celebrate them right now too. In Stoke, the youth 'experts' are Whanake Youth who we work with very closely.

STOKE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Our hope is to be a community group that listens carefully and responds appropriately.

CONNECTING STOKE’S RESIDENTS, ORGANISATIONS AND LOCAL BUSINESSES

There are just so many great people and organisations in our neighbourhood. Stoked wants to help grow the connections between local people and groups.
